Uncertain About the Direction of Your Professional Life? Achieving Success Requires Knowing the Right Questions…
And How to Ask Them!
Are you worried about the effects of the current economic environment on your career prospects? Have you been laid off or fear you might be soon? Are you afraid of changing careers right now, and think a better time will present itself?
Without question the job market has grown more complex, challenging, and difficult to navigate than at any point in recent memory. But, regardless of the ups and downs of the overall economy, it’s your own personal economy that matters!
It is still possible to find financially rewarding positions with secure companies, using the skills you either already have or can easily learn. It’s also possible to work in new arenas, such as start-ups or entrepreneurial ventures while maintaining a high standard of living. I know, as I’ve helped many people achieve just these things.
With a professional career counselor on your side, you can learn to identify your financial needs and goals, your present skills, your interests, and those you can learn-and then match these with available opportunities and learn to create your own.
- What should I do with the rest of my life? What is it I really want and how can I achieve it?
- Can I make my present job work for me, or do I need a new one?
- How do I find the right work-life balance?
- I’m so overwhelmed just trying to keep up with everything I feel as if I’m simply spinning my wheels… Is this all life has to offer? How can I get my life in gear?
- What do I do if I’ve never had one particular passion? I’m ready to make a change, but in which direction should I head?
- What can I do when I love my present job but I have the boss from hell?
- My life is going well, but it’s not enough… Is it okay to want more? How can I get it?
Have you designed the life you want to live? There’s an old adage that says, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” If you’re asking yourself questions such as those above, chances are you could benefit from some individual career counseling in order to design a plan for your success.
“If You Win the Lottery Tomorrow, What Would You Do With Your Time?”
This is a question I often ask clients who come to me for career counseling.
If your dreams were fulfilled, what would your “perfect life” look like? Despite any preconceived notions you may have, you can create your “perfect life!” Believe it or not, it is possible to be doing what provides you happiness and fulfillment – right now – and earn a living doing so!
Your imagination is the key to your success. Can you allow yourself to imagine spending your time doing what you love to do even if you never had to work again? Never mind whether you believe you can get paid for such things – that can, and will, come later. First you must let go of the “money” aspect for just a moment and let your imagination go… What is really fun for you? What brings joy to your life? Once these questions are answered, you can begin to create a life filled with happiness and fulfillment.
Many people create obstacles for themselves through their beliefs regarding money. “Oh,” they say, “No one earns money just doing art, or just watching TV, or just playing with kids…” Yet I have helped people earn a substantial living doing all of these things.
The career counseling and life coaching services I provide are based on your goals, your values, and your dreams. I can help you plan and work towards achieving your vision of success, in essence I help my clients become the architects of their lives.
The assistance I provide my clients both supports them and keeps them focused. Having a professional career counselor in their corner, creates a powerful alliance that results in positive, lasting life changes! Don’t wonder how others have achieved the success they’ve created. “You live the good life, not by doing what you can do, but by doing what you want to do.”
