“Change and growth take place when a person has risked himself and dares to become involved in experimenting with his own life.”
– Herbert Otto (psychologist)
Karen Rose, M.A., MFT
I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) in the state of California, and provide career counseling and psychotherapy services to individual adults in the San Francisco Bay Area via my offices located in both San Francisco and Berkeley.
I became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist in January 1984 and, in addition to providing career counseling services for the past 25 years, I supervised career counselors at John F. Kennedy University’s Career Center, where I provided training for career counseling graduate students, and career counseling interns at San Francisco State University’s Career Counseling and Development Center.
I primarily provide career counseling for professionals at all levels, and offer intelligent, insightful, creative, outside-the-box, solution-focused career counseling and coaching with complete discretion and confidentiality.
I realized early on that the world isn’t “made” for any one of us. We each have to create our own way of thinking and getting things done. And it is with pride and joy that I have helped countless clients do just that for well over two decades.
My work focuses on helping clients enjoy more satisfying and meaningful lives.
Former and current clients have described me as “easy to talk to,” “a wonderful listener,” “someone who it feels safe to talk with,” “easy to be open with, and nonjudgmental,” “empathic and understanding,” and most commonly of all “someone who thinks outside the box.”
As well as being a counselor, I have been in counseling for the past thirty years. I personally believe we’re never done exploring who we are, and I continue to discover new ways to bring meaning and joy to the world through my work and the way I live my life.
If you have any questions about my background, the work I do, or how the services I provide may be able to help your specific situation, please feel free to call me at your convenience at 510-486-1188 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
